Week Thirty - "Vane - ity Fair"

"July Challenge"

So this is what one month of shooting weather vanes looked like! As I mentioned earlier, there are very many unique ones sitting atop the roofs of buildings in your area. Go check them out.

Weekly Photo Suggestion:

Do something totally off-the-wall or off the roof? The subjects are out there, you just have to stop and look around!

My next challenge was a month long one - fulfilling my daily blog obligation!

I had previewed this challenge a few weeks ago but wanted to spotlight a couple of the fun ones that i encountered. Sadly, I do not remember where I shot this one other than i know it wasn't local.

Want to see more of these, check out the July archives of this blog.

Weekly Photo Suggestion:

Superglue your camera to your hand.  Okay, don’t.  But it will help you to capture photos when you bring your camera everywhere.  You never know what you might come across - perhaps an interesting weather vane.

Week Twenty-eight - "Ontario"

"Outta This World!"

From the northern most pint of the Ontario Province we drove down to the southern region of Toronto. Our focus that night was the CN Tower. We set off to get in line for our tickets and the ascent to the top. We timed it just right for sunset - along with a few hundred other photo-enthusiasts as well! After a few hours up there we reached terra firma and began the walk back to out hotel. I was trying to get the right angle of the CN Tower all lit up when I look to my right and saw this layout.

I managed to get several shots at different angles and liked this one the best. After a few minutes with PhotoShop and the NIK family of plug-is, I had my shot.

Kind of looks out of this world, doesn't it?

Weekly Photo Suggestion:

Photo editing is an art in itself!

Week Twenty-seven - "Ontario"

"The Capitol Theater"

Using up a week of time share filled helped to fill in Shoot #13 - Ontario. My wife and I drove to the northern regions of the province to a town called, Collingswood. We used this place as our launching point as we toured the surrounding areas. One such town was Meaford. Walking down main street, we came across the town's theater, "The Capitol." I was impressed with the glass-etched doors that led into the lobby. It had the feel of something done from the forties.

Weekly Photo Suggestion:

Capture the beauty in the mundane and you have a winning photograph.
