Shoot XVIII - "Whistler's Mother in LEGOs"

And, the state of the week was "Little Rhody" or officially known as "Rhode Island and Providence Plantations" - quite the lengthy name. Can see why it was shortened as the license plates would have to be a wrap-around! Checking in were Michelle, Milt, Beth, Carol, Mike D., Joani, Elaine, and Jim W.

"Whistler's Mother"

As I mentioned in the previous blog, Nathan Sawaya challenged himself to recreate some of the world's famous artworks. Here we have Whistler's Mother" created with 15,000 bricks! Google "The Art of the Brick" to see many of his works or check out my website to see the ones I shot. And, if this exhibit is within driving distance, go see it!!!

Thought for the week. . .

Here are some interesting facts about one of our fifty states. Do you know which one? This state boasts of being the:

home to the only active diamond mine in the US!
birthplace of singer Johnny Cash, popular musician and composer, Scott Joplin, and General Douglas MacArthur!

official state instrument - the fiddle designated in 1985.

Leaving you with a smile, I hope. . .
