Currituck Stairway
Typically when one shoots a lighthouse stairwell, it’s the
spiral view. Currituck’s circular staircase was somewhat obstructed by landings
that allowed visitors a chance to rest from the exhausting climb. After shooting
about fifty different angles of this staircase, I saw this simple composition
of just a section of the steps.
In my digital darkroom, I played with color versus B&W –
both had their advantages. As you can see here, monochromatic won out.
