Week Thirty-one - "Lead Racer"

"Lead Racer"

Shoot #14 for the year found me on the high seas, okay, it was Buzzard's Bay. It was still quite a distance from the shore. HDP Club member, Carl, offered to take small groups out on his boat throughout the summer months. He neglected to mention we had to row out to his motorboat and then make the transition on the high seas, er, Buzzard's Bay.

Several areas within this composition caught my attention - the sunset on the horizon, the angle of the sailboat and the swirling clouds. I only had a few seconds to analyze all of the aforementioned compositional qualities to get the shot. Did I mention this was taken on a rocking boat on the high seas?

For me it all come together in this shot!

Weekly Photo Suggestion:

Photography is REALLY about . . .
Composition and light

"Lead Racer" is proof positive that the shot comes about when the lighting and the compostition work hand in hand!

Runyon's Law
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but that's the way to bet!

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film (or an SD card).
