Week Thirty-eight - "Skulled Arch"

"Skulled Arch"

The view from "Skulled Arch" was amazing, it was the getting there and back that took some nerve! Our guide was supportive and encouraging all the way up to this spot. He knew where to walk up the sheer face of this arch. My new hiking boots did not fail me and I was glad I had decided to purchase them several months earlier. One member of our small group opted to stay on the ground while the rest of us made the journey. Here is our leader, Clint, and a visitor from Australia. Oh, this was at about the one-third point!

Getting down was much more difficult!

The expanse of this hollowed out area was deceiving from the ground. A small tribe could have camped out here and be protected from the elements.

Weekly Photo Suggestion:

 Be a part of a scene while taking a photo;
            not a voyeur!
(you should wait until you are on solid ground though!)

 A Pearl of Wisdom. . .

Murphy's Second Corollary
It is impossible to make anything foolproof . . .        because fools are so ingenious.

Steven Wright's Witticisms

You never really learn to swear
until you learn to drive.
(or, you have to scale down Skulled Arch!)
