Shoot Five - James' Recessional

Rio, you said? Well, at least Carol, Milt, Michelle, Mariann, Jim, Elaine, Peyton, and Joani did! I guess Niece Deana was over-matched this week - a one hit wonder!

"James' Recessional"

My Great-nephew, James, made his First Communion back in the spring. It was a special day for family as we all celebrated his Catholic milestone in his faith.

I chose this image as it reminded me of the time when I made mine. This was the look known as the "Fear of Sister Catechism!" The only thing we were allowed to do was breathe! James did not have to undergo the nuns during his practice sessions but they would have been proud of his posture. He didn't crack a smile UNTIL he was outside on the church steps!

Where in the World?

Better get out the atlas as this year I will be featuring some of the more famous cities of the world! I will offer some interesting facts about one of them. Just which city am I describing?

The largest city and capital city of its country

it boasts of a long history, which is linked intrinsically to the history of Europe. The city has brilliant architecture, visible almost everywhere – from beautiful bridges to stunning buildings.

The most important tourist destination in the city Castle, largest ancient castle in the world. It is even registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Charles Bridge is an architectural treat in itself. Built over the River Vltava, this bridge is approximately 600 years old. It is built in the Gothic style, and is lined with baroque statues of 30 religious figures.

Josefov is known for being the Jewish part of the city. It is renowned for preserving various synagogues, all unique in nature. It is also home to the oldest synagogue in Europe, called the Staronova Syngoga.

At the Kafka Museum in the city that holds a permanent exhibition in his house, lovers of Kafka can familiarize themselves with him.

Have it narrowed down to a few? Maybe this will help - tourists can visit several palaces and museums, as well as the St. Vitus Cathedral, which is nearby. You can stroll in the Royal Garden and watch the Changing of Guards ceremony.
