Happy New Year! Toasting all of You

Mexico City! Tip of the cap to Elaine, Tony, Joani, Mike, Milt, and Preston.

"Toasting All of You. . ."

Another year - fourth one, I believe comes to a close. So I am raising a toast (with help from my recently deceased little brother) to all of you who have been following me!

2017 was not a great year for me to get out and shoot - something to do with a hip being replaced. So, I am  undecided as to what to do with my blog.

What, you wonder?

Tune in next week and find out. . .

Where in the World?

Better get out the atlas as this year I will be featuring some of the more famous cities of the world! Here are some interesting facts about one of them. Just which city would I be visiting?

before it was annexed in 1898, it was occupied by the Russians, French, and British, on separate occasions.

the city saw a major boom in activity in 1959.

nearly
2,400 miles from nearest major city, it is one of the most remote places in the world supporting a major population.

its  symphony was founded in 1900
, making it among the oldest symphony orchestras in the country.

More than
100 beaches surround the city, more than almost any other city in the world.

has
one of the largest concentrations of Buddhist temples in the Western world, with over 30 spread through the city.

A Word to the Wise. . .

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear,
an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

Murphy's Laws. . .

the bank's balance is always smaller than yours!
