Day Thirty-one. . .

Well, one month down and only eleven left! I would not be able to say this if it wasn't for the support, comments, and suggestions from all of you. I did not intend for my daily challenge to be a guessing game for you but I'm glad it turned out that way. I've enjoyed the interaction, the humor, and the off-the-wall guesses!

So for Day 31 - here is my way of saying, "Thank-you. . ."

Special tip of the lens cap to my #1 Cheerleader for suggesting this technique. I'm betting Mike P. wants to paint it:)

As for Day 30, it was a crystal candy dish. Kudos to Phil, Michelle, Joyce, Carol, Mike P., Milt, Doris, Joani, and Mike Di. Welcome to our newest follower, KJ, who also saw the candy dish. Gold Star to Mike Di for knowing Farfel as the character for the Nestle's commercial.

What if I came to your house, what patterns could I shoot that I haven't already done? Send me a list of no more than three.

Day Thirty. . .

I know the suspense is getting to you - what will he do for February? I think I have outdone myself but you'll have to wait as there are really two days left #30 and #31.

We have a new world's record for correct responses to one of my challenges. I'm hoping to hear from Guinness' World Book of Records for verification. SEVENTEEN correctly identified my arrangement of water bottles. A few of you tried to name the brand! It was Nestle's - see they make more than chocolate! For those baby boomers, what was the name of that dog in those NESTLE's commercials?? Spelling does count!

And, those responsible for my new world's record are: EMO, Phil, Mariann, Ted, Michelle, Peyton, Peter, Milt, Cherie, Mike P., Deana, Vicky, Joani, Joyce, Cathy K., Mike Di., and first timer, Beth!

Day Twenty-nine. . .

I have figured out what to do in February. I am looking forward to the challenge. Yep, another easy one, I think I'm spent after my favorite (tea bags) went for naught. Here is another one to make y'all feel good. . .

And, here is #28 - the intersection of four slate tiles on my kitchen floor! Congrats to Deana, Mike Di., Ted, Mariann, Michelle, EMO, Vicky, Maeve, and Milt.

Can't believe the pieces are almost mirroring the one beside it!

Day Twenty-eight. . .

You're all waiting to find out what was that from Day 27, right? Well, you'll have to wait a little longer as I have today's to post first. This should put a smile on all of you. . .

So, with not one correct answer from the masses, I would like to acknowledge the most popular answer of the bottom of a vacuum cleaner. There were four of you who had come up with that one.

It was the grips on the handle of my razor! It was either this or the monastery so you have no one else to blame but yourselves!

Day Twenty-seven. . .

Okay, so maybe I won't book lodging at a monastery as a few of you began looking into my residency there. And, I was only kidding about quitting - I was just looking for the sympathy ears out there (another three or four were listening).

So here is today's - I know it's too easy!

So Day 26 had the most correct responders to date. Welcome, Cherrie to the group! Let's see there was Mike P., Deana, Ted, Phil, Mariann, Peyton, Carol, Peter, Ann B., Michelle, Milt, Vicky, Mike Di., Doris, and Cherrie.

And, there were Lipton's! (On sale at Market Basket last week)

Day Twenty-Six

That's what I get for being too over-confident - just about everyone came up with the mini blinds. I won't go out on a limb for today's - on second thought - yes, I will. I believe I got y'all on Day 26!!!

And, the winners are Mariann, Ted, Michelle, Carol, Deana, Phil, Ann B., Mike Di., Vicky, and Milt. So, here are the mini blinds shot from the side. . .

Maybe, I should take some of the praise as it is my Challenge that's getting you to think each day, er no?

Day Twenty-five. . .

Now, I'm really serious! Good luck on this one!

Give up on Day Twenty-five, yet?

Well, congrats (sort of) to all who figured out my carpet cleaning brush - Ed (in Florida), EMO, Phil, Milt, Mike P., Vicky, Ann B., Joani, Ted, Mike Di., and Peyton.

January will be ending soon and I need to come up with another indoor photo shoot - any suggestions?

Day Twenty-four. . .

No more Mr. Nice Guy, the gloves are off so let's see how you do with #24. . .

Of course, it was a drain, didn't you read the brand name? C'mon people, let's not over-think these. Clean sweep with all blog followers with a correct answer! Mike P., Ted, Mariann, Peyton, Phil, Milt, Deana, Michelle, Carol, Mike Di., Doris, Peter, Joyce, and Cathy K.

Day Twenty-three. . .

I am so proud of you. Another unanimous guess for Day 22. so, let's see if you can keep the streak going. . .

Some of you will look at the lettering in hopes that will help you - it may or it may not!

For Day 22, the pattern was the backsplash in our kitchen. So many of you were so close, that the panel of impartial judges ruled in your favor - Deana, Ted, Michelle, Carol, Mike P., Mike Di., Milt, Vicky, Joani, Tony, Phil, and Peter.

Day Twenty-two. . .

As expected, EVERYONE who responded was on the mark with Day Twenty-one Challenge. Let's pump their ego for one more day with this one. . .

I know another no-brainer, so take full advantage of my generous ways. Well, we did FINALLY hear from the guy who spent three days guessing an exhaust vent (Mike Di) along with the rest of you who did figure it out - Deana, Ted, Carol, Milt, Peter, EMO, Doris, and Michelle.

The Mike Di Dryer Vent!

Day Twenty-one

Okay, I'm feeling a little guilty for dropping yesterday's challenge on you but you made me do it with your cleverness in figuring out those from the past 20 days. As a measure of good faith, I'm offering up this olive branch (no, it's not an olive branch) for Challenge Twenty-one. I even named it my Mike Di Challenge. . .

And, here it is!

A stack of CD cases! And, the winners are. . .

No One!!

I feel better already. . .

Day Twenty. . .

What to shoot. . . Oh, what to shoot? It'll be inside for sure! Good luck on this one - I think I may finally have a toughie - see now you have me caught up in this competition. . .

Coins, they were. All neatly stacked in clear Lucite as a paperweight. Almost a clean sweep with only one miss (me thinks she got up TOO early for this challenge). Congrats to Peyton, Phil, both Mikes, Peter, Michelle and Lisa who knew in what room it was!

Day Nineteen. . .

You do realize this was supposed to be a simple challenge for me do on a daily basis BUT it has turned into a stressful daily endeavor with me trying to shoot patterns that might trick you. What ever happened to the good old days of January 1st - Day One?

And, here is yesterday's stumper as only three (Michelle, Phil, and Deana) correctly identified the ceramic bread/fruit holder. Most creative guess has to go to Mike Di for his, "extremely precisely plated linguini pasta waiting for the pink vodka sauce."

Day Eighteen. . .

No, I'm not recycling the Pampered Chef slicer from the other day. And, it's not a garage either, Peter!

Well, Day Seventeen was way too easy - the trivet - as correctly identified by Joani, Phil, Carol, Michelle, Milt, Mike Di., Ted, and Peter. . .

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Day Seventeen. . .

Well, yesterday's turned out to be a no-brainer. so let's see how this one turns out. . .

Yes, it was the binding for a set of encyclopedias! Carol, Ted, Phil, Michelle, Milt, Joyce, and Mike Di all came through with flying colors. As I mentioned the set is from 1910 and they were done over as their covers were in rough shape.

Don't they look amazing?

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Day Sixteen. . .

Phew! I made it to the half-way point and beyond. Only 15 more challenges to post until the end of the month and then there's February, and March. . .

Keep those guesses coming!

As for Day Fifteen, we had an apple corer/slicer - with Carol Mc., EMO, Michelle, Ann B., Milt, Phil, and Mike P. correctly figuring out the pattern. Gold Stars are going out to Ted, Cathy K., and Peter for noticing a SECOND pattern below the corer!

For Mike Di's sake I had better post a filter as he continues to see one in the past couple of patterns!

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Day Fifteen. . .

Let's hope today's pattern is a little easier.

Now as for the twin bill of Days 13 and 14 - gotcha - except for Carol Mc (a platinum star)! It was a mushroom/egg slicer from Pampered Chef. We did have some out of the box guesses from Peter's parking garage to Phil, air filtration system for one of my Star Wars' characters!

And, here it is all together. . .

Monday, January 14, 2013

Day Fourteen. . .

So with a drum roll, I offer you Part Two of the pattern from yesterday. I'm not hearing that drum from Mike and Ted and a few others - that's better. . .

Remember, it goes along with Day Thirteen's pattern. Several have offered answers but decided to hold off until today's second half appeared. Well, Peter, still thinking a parking garage???

Day Thirteen. . .

A two-parter. . . Day 13 will feature one pattern from this object and Day 14 will show the rest of it. Ready?

As for this one:

It was a placemat but the judges accepted reasonable answers - sorry, Joyce your glass bowl did not make the cut. Once again we have Phil, Ted, Joani, Mike P., Milt, Carol Mc., EMO, Mariann. Peter, Vicky, Michelle, Maeve, and Kathy B. Gold Stars are awarded tro Phil for his, "It appears to be a circular hemp made item that could be either a rug or the inside of a basket. Probably made in some third world country by some poor soul who was paid a pittance." and Mike P., who added this, "A braided burnt umber rug, maybe with a 36 circumference, resting on a dark stained pine wood floor - or, maybe in a black hole located in the Milky Way and Photoshopped in?"

Day Twelve. . .

Panic is beginning to set in as my list of "Patterns" for January's Challenge looks complete - panic in that what to do for February? Bear with me as I have some ideas.

Enough of feeling sorry for myself,
           here is Day Twelve's Pattern. . .

And, for those still playing along here is yesterday's challenge. . .

Phil just edged out Ted with his detailed description of what was shot, "looks like slats on a louver door - perhaps a closet door. The slats are stained and the color appears to be Minwax Early American with a polyurethane, semi gloss finish. " Ted earns a Gold Star as well for, "mahogany louvered  closet door, with urethane semi gloss finish." Others earning a nod here are Carol Mc., Michelle, Milt, Peter, Kathy B., Joani, Mike Di., and Mike P.

Day Eleven. . .

With a slight chill in the air, I have opted to go back inside for today's patterns. Fairly easy. . .

Thanks for the comments on yesterday's image shot at Burial Hill in Plymouth. It was the back of the church with overhead lights for the stained glass windows. Phil (should be excluded as he was there), Peter, Doris, Mike P., Lisa, Jeff W., Carol Mc., and Michelle. Some of you have TOO much time on your hands (Ted) with, "Stain Glass Windows with cone shaped light fixtures near the top. There is Lexon plastic covering to protect them.

Day Ten. . .

Had another opportunity to be out and about with my camera today. Thanks to Photo Buddy Phil, we shot around Burial Hill in Plymouth. So today's image is a pattern I found there. . .

Patterns all over this one!

As for Day 09 - the Gold Star is awarded to Milt of PDP as his ability to identify the pattern was uncanny - downright scary, "The +ends of an 8 Pack of Alkaline AA batteries" Kudos to Mariann, Mike P., Mike Di., Michelle, Vicky, Joani, Phil, Joyce, Deana, Cathy K., Lisa, Cheryl, and Doris! And, Ted H.

Day Nine. . .

Glad you enjoyed some of those images from "Pattern Overload." The Bapst Library is a work of art in itself!

So here is today's pattern. . .

Answer tomorrow. . .

Day Eight. . .

Pattern Overload!
I had an opportunity to visit and shoot Boston College's Bapst Library. I was in "Pattern Heaven!" Here are a few of the ones I shot today. I don't expect you to warrant a guess on these - unless you want to. That is what I saw as I walked in.

And, a few more patterns as well. . .

As for Day Seven - lots of correct guesses about it being wicker.
Lisa, Phil, Milt, Michelle, Joyce, Joani, Jeff W., Ted H., Carol Mc., Deana, and Vicky.

Day Seven. . .

It's now a week and I'm still going strong - thanks to many of you who continue to get involved on this blog. An easy one today after yesterday's toughie. I know, too easy. . .

We had three correct Day Six answers (Phil, Lisa, and Michelle) who felt it was a ring - it was my wedding band showing its forty-plus years. We did have a few very creative answers as well.
